Planetary War in Scorpio | Mars Kicking Ass in Leo

There are two very urgent transits right now that are making us agitated and triggered.

1. Mercury will be defeating Venus in a Planetary War from October 28 until November 14, 2011.
2. Mars is now in Leo – asserting a high level of self-will.

The planetary War happens when two  planets come very close together, within 1 degree. When this happens the planet with the lowest ecliptic longitude overcomes the other – filtering / interpreting its energy.

In this case Mercury is defeating Venus, in Scorpio – showing a laissez-faire / careless communication style that may be masking a more hostile nature. The manners,  decorum and value on the human connection, favored by Venus is sacrificed.

~ Are you “checking out / blowing people off” in a pseudo-casual way, even though underneath you are angry?

~ Or flat out “calling it off” with someone,, after getting triggered emotionally? (or some version of these things)

This is happening in Scorpio, a sign of emotional stress, fear and will. This combined with the ruler of Scorpio, Mars’s recent transit into Leo shows there may be a high level of self will and self-assertion – so take care in your relationships and friendships right now.

Herman Cain Sex Scandal
One can clearly see this foolhardy and misdirected communication  in the Herman Cain scandal. Of course, Venus is also the planet of sex, and Scorpio a sign of deceit  and treachery.

In his Chart we see he was born with retrograde Mercury and Venus very close together. In fact they are almost in the exact same planetary war we are experiencing now.

Mercury  had just passed the 1° mark hours earlier,  in his retrograde motion.

Here is a brief timeline of this scandal.

October 30 – After Politico publishes its story the campaign releases a statement accusing the media of “unsubstantiated personal attacks on Cain” but does not directly deniy the claim that settlements were paid.

October 31 – Cain himself takes to the airwaves to push against the story. In the morning he claims he wasn’t aware of any settlement and categorically denies sexually harassing anyone. That evening he says he was made aware of “an agreement” but says that is different from a settlement. He again denies harassment but says some people may have thought he “crossed the line”. He mentions that he made a comment about one woman’s height.

November 1 – Cain admits there may have been “a couple of other things” that formed the basis of the women’s complaints but says they are too “ridiculous” to even remember.

November 2 – The New York Times reports that one of the women was paid a full year’s salary in compensation, indicating that that NRA took her claim seriously. A third woman claims she was harassed by Cain during his time at the NRA but did not receive a settlement. Mark Block, Cain’s chief of staff, launches a blistering attack on the Rick Perry campaign – accusing its operatives of planting the story.

The “Mars in Leo” Factor
When Mars goes into Leo there is usually a backlash against those who we have been trying to accommodate (when Mars went through Cancer). Many times when Mars goes into Leo, we over assert our self-will.
