An eclipse happens when the orbits of the Sun, Moon and Earth line up in  3 dimensional space.

This eclipse in Scorpio will be a time of intense emotion an inner exploration, hopefully. Scorpio is a sign where we look to strengthen our emotional fears and insecurities, transforming them into strengths. When we are obssessed over some external form of love, we forget ourselves as the true source of divine love.

We are all emotional creatures. Our very connection to the life force itself goes through the heart. The real motivation of Scorpio is where we come face to face our deepest fears of being disconnected from that life force, through the heart. When faced with such a big loss, we try to exert control over situations and people. Yet, eventually we realize we have no control over them or ourselves. The courage to face this dilemma comes from Mars, reflecting inward, strengthening our emotional resolve.

Scorpio is fixed water, so concentrating our emotional power is key. Anything we are concentrating on / obsessed over externally to give us an inner connection to love, will eventually create enormous stress – that includes lovers, career and even our children. All of these important areas of life require we show up in a loving space. But we don’t own anything here, not even our children. It all belongs to the divine mother and will all be taken away eventually.

This eclipse takes place in Anuradha Nakshatra, ruled by the God “Mitra” (divine friend). Radha was the most beloved of Lord Krishna – his true lover, even though they were not partnered. That is the spirit of this Nakshatra. God as the divine friend, the one you would call at any hour of the night, knowing no judgement would come forth no matter what you said. This is a very potent metaphor now.
Rather than insist others show up for you, instead why don’t you show up for them. And really, this is the biggest problem with Scorpio, expecting or demanding something from others. Yet, the pure emotional courage of this sign allows us to penetrate to the heart of that intense feelings and those deep, terrified imaginings in our heart.

Mars is aspecting this eclipse from Leo, supporting with enormous courage and vitality. Spiritual practices such as yoga and other disciplined activities will be most beneficial for the next six months (the eclipse cycle). In addition, Mercury is retrograde at the time of this eclipse, showing an inner creativity and flexibility. Once the heart calms down, you may come to a profound inner understanding. Writing and journaling could be important skills for the next six months.
