Astrologers are people too.
Beyond that there are many helpful hints about how to navigate current situations and get the most out of them, awakening a sense of contribution, commitment and establishment in Self.
anybody else having trouble with the audio at about 24:00 into the video?
"I tried to paint an optimistic picture about the attempt to stop the oil well gusher in the Gulf, but you can hear that I am not convinced"
Astrologers rushing in to make predictions and then running around for fig leaves are common in India, but this really takes the cake (or the non existent fig leaf ).So now your audience not only has to listen to what you say but also try and make out whether you are convinced about what you say.
Even the ignorant and the incompetent have to make a living. Many people have found that fooling some of the people some of the time is quite enough to ensure a comfortable life. My only request is that you do not call this charade Vedic astrology. In Jyotish, the learned astrologer is a daivagna : one who understands the divine will. You are already commercialising this divine science. Please, please do not add the sauce of hypocrisy to the hamburger of commerce
Everyone in life tries their best. Sam never said he was perfect. The only perfect person in life is God, and we use astrology as the Divine Science to realize we are servants of God. Any mortal person living in the Mrtyu Loka, Planet of birth and death, has 4 natural defects.
l. Imperfect senses
2. The cheating propensity
2. Being subject to illusion
4. Making mistakes
This is why self realization is the path given to a disciple by a spiritual master, who has made a connection to the Divine which is above the 4 imperfections of a material body.
A parampara system of knowledge, or disciplic succession is where the student or disciple gets Divine Grace from the guru to connect with the will or energy of God. They then become a transparent via medium to share wisdom with others. Wisdom that not only helps others materially, but wisdom that awakens the true nature of the soul within.
I don't think Sam to be ignorant or incompetent. He is sincerely trying to share his level of wisdom with others and maintain himself by his service. It has been said that: " One man's food, is another man's poisen."
We are in a revolutionary time where we are trying to bring to life the ancient systems of the universe. ( East meets West.)…… But we need to understand that : " Every endeavor is covered by some sort of fault." So God (Krsna), has stated in Bhagavadgita that: " One has the right to perform one's duty, but one is not entitled to the result."
So Sam is doing his duty in life, as an astrologer, according to his level of capability and understanding. I would rather see the good he is doing, instead of focusing on faults.
The vedas are full of stories of qualities of bonafide astrologers. If we read books such as SrimadBhagavatam, MahaBharata, Ramayana, we can get a glimpse of the ancient culture where such masters of Astrology lived. We of the modern world, who try to revive the ancient ways are faced with many obstacles, of which ignorance and incompetence are major impediments. That is why on our own, we may stumble and fall. Each of us who try to walk the path of transcendence, of which Astrology is part, must be connected to a bonafide guru, who has mastered the art and passed it unto us. The Divine Will, was tapped into by the Master, who then passed it on to his Disciple, and then that Disciple after being trained by the Master, becomes a Master himself, and trains others.
with jupiter and saturn aspecting,(being hopeful and having the discipline) may help bring my meditation to a pivotal point, is that what your saying?
I have jupiter, mercury, and venus and ascending in Scorpio in the 8th house…i caught that at the end of your that this aspect really affects scorpio…should i worry?!
mbd, you asked me "should I worry".?
A: no never. There is a lot of potential power now.. Listen to what I said about that.
Sam,
Thank you for sharing this video newsletter.
Your explanations are quite meaningful and very elaborate
It is quite helpful to focus on personal action rather than relying exclusively on predictions.
Thank you for sharing your interpretations and offering your insights on Jupiter Saturn Transit.
Much appreciated.
Hi Sam
Thank you for sharing your broadcast, I really enjoyed learning about the outer planets as you described their differences amongst themselves. How they have their unique influences of (Saturn) determined power, hard work, getting all the details done vs (Jupiter) optimism, spiritual practices, truth in our lives and good teachers (Sam G).
I knew all this already but the way you put it all together in your video is very enlightening for me and makes things much clearer than they were before. Thank you, Thank you. Thank you.
Having a Saturn ruled ascendant is one that makes you serious and hesitant to embrace or believe that things
will really come together. Afraid of making another mistake is a big one. Especially in a career and wanting to get off on the right foot. Thank you again for your guidance and wisdom. Not having a clear direction in my career is hard for me because I have always been one to be more focused and work hard to obtain what ever I choose to do. But only when I am clear of what I want. Thats the tricky part!
For me with Jupiter transiting in Pisces/conjunction to mars and Ketu which is psychic tendencies or heightened intuition, mysticism and spiritual practices and Saturn in Virgo giving us the capacity to put our determined power into practical purposes and work. I like work. To me work is fun.
To be honest with you now I am just trying to figure and (Saturn) worrying out these many details and how I can put them into practical use. Is it really possible? I guess for now I can start by practicing on my friends more.

To Bala,
Perhaps Sam may not be doing entirely Vedic astrology as you know it India or where ever home land is. But I was under the impression that Sam is teaching his a bit of his own interpretation of Vedic astrology and calling it of "UNiVERSAL ASTROLOGY".
You see, these are changing times. Do you BALA also believe that the world is coming to an end in 2012 according to The Mayan Calender too. Thats what they predict.
Its up to us or the Leaders of out times to interpret old teachings and bring it into current times as we know it now!!
I applaud Sam for giving it his best shot. Right or Wrong.
Wende
Hey folks,
I appreciate defending me, but instead of that, please ignore "Bala" and types like him. He is what is called a "troll" in internet speak. He goes to places where people are fine minding their own business and spouts off. Protected by the anonymity of a computer, he gets on a soapbox and vents his (or her) frustrations.
His "points" are dumb and badly formed. had he listened to any context he would have seen that. Plus, in defending me – a lot of incorrect things are said that I have to correct, and I don't feel like correcting them,.. etc. So please just let it go.. but again I do appreciate your thoughts and wishes to do that.
I did not make a mistake with a prediction and then try to cover my butt.. (or whatever he is foaming at the mouth about), nor am I exploiting people or the reinventing / ruining tradition ,.. etc. etc. blah blah.. That is why I have been hired by the leading traditional Vedic astrological remedy company n the world to lead most of the training of their astrologers.
Specifically, In the video I discussed the current aspects and drew a parallel / drew attention to the attempt to stop the oil spill.. I made an off the cuff prediction / statement that given the Jupiter aspect and mars aspect, the operation could work.. but i even say in the video that I don't state my reputation on these things.. Client work is much different..
By the way, even though it did not work, it is the most hope yet we have seen and the closest we came so far, so that much was shown.
In the future when trolls like "Bala" show up here, please do not waste your time on them..
I will not be.
If "Bala" becomes a nuisance I have ways of banning him/her/it.
Anyway, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter — Interestingly this mimicks a placement in my natal chart where I tend to attract enemies, then defeat them.
I have the exact same Mars/Jupiter aspect natally AND I have a one-way Saturn aspect, which shows formidable ememies sometimes. This is not one of them.
BTW Wende, Universal Astrology is not my own version of Vedic astrology.. It is very traditional vedic astrology.
I use the term "Universal Astrology",, because Vedic concepts are universal and this appeals more to westerners, who because they have heard Vedic astrology is so hard, felt very drawn to an approach that brought the Vedic concepts to life.
Hi Sam,
I have Mangala in Simha and have experienced Mars qualities to be some what stiffled in my life. I mean it has not always been easy to just do what I feel is the 'right' thing to do. I think Mars as the general of the armies may find strength in the house of the king but he may also find it harder to do his duties as war chief when under such royal and dignified conditions. On a positive note my twin boys have Simha Lagna and they just started preschool today, Mangala is in their 9th.
I also have Shani in Kanya and your words on this placement were right on. Losing sight of the forest for the trees has always been a stumbling block for me.
I was curious if there is any insight that can be offered in regards to the planetary transits in regards to their exhaultation signs, Mars in the 8th from, Jupiter in the 9th from and Saturn in the 12th from exhaultation.
I also thought it very interesting to note how all these special aspects from the outer planets are acting upon the degree that is right around 0' tropical Aries.
So very glad I found your website and look forward to the next video.
Christopher
Dear Sam and all, A wrong prediction, big deal, why make so much of it, Astrology is a highly complex system, their a many many interlocking variables, including the very very important fact that Sam is not yet (I think he would agree on this ) an all seeing realised being yet, and to his credit is very human… and doing a very sacred job in deepening our understanding of this great art and science. astrologers make predictions , they are simply that PREDICTIONS !! they are not godly edicts, so lets all grow up a bit, and be more understanding.
Hi folks
The troll here again to foam at the mouth some more.(a troll incidentally is a member of a race of fearsome creatures from Norse mythology : maybe somebody better watch out )
The statement that i reproduced earlier by our learned host (“I tried to paint an optimistic picture about the attempt to stop the oil well gusher in the Gulf, but you can hear that I am not convinced”)is an obvious exercise in self serving deception. If people made statements and then started saying that if you had listened to me carefully you would have made out i was not convinced of what i said…well u can imagine the result. Yes people make mistakes but the honest ones acknowledge them without such sophistry. In the present post our learned host now states he never made a mistake.Consistency is after all the virtue of little minds.
I better not talk too much since our host has " ways of banning him/her/it." My legs are shivering with fear (maybe i am not the real troll )Humility, sobriety and calmness were valued by traditional astrologers. They are not of any value to one who has been "been hired by the leading traditional Vedic astrological remedy company n the world to lead most of the training of their astrologers."
May the Divine mother save us all by giving us wisdom and patience. regs the troll
Thank you Sam, I really did not expect you to reply!!! I am going to re-visit your video, I must have missed something! BTW,I am happy that you will be meeting with your Guru, enjoy her, if I lived on the mainland I'd go out of my way to meet her! I asked my meditation teacher, if i'd be missing something if I did not have an assigned Guru and he said "Actually Guru is on two, related levels. One is purely formless and impersonal. The other is historical and personal. Both are equally important."
