Late in the evening of April 20, 2010, a The devastating oil spill was triggered / caused astrologically by Ketu, the South Node. Ketu does not do well in Gemini, in general if you follow convention and assign a mulatrikona status to Rahu in Gemini. I do and have often stated (even very recently in my Rahu/Ketu classes) that Ketu in Gemini is not very together.
Scorpio is the sign related to oil and Ketu the ruler. Since he took up residence in Ardra Nakshatra in early May, we have realized the enormity of the potential for devastation.
Mars is also the ruler of Scorpio and was debilitated. Perhaps his exit from Cancer will show some relief.
Mars leaves Cancer this week, Wednesday, May 26, 2010. The entrance of Mars into Leo this week will also likely show a larger effort from the government.

Were not the Nodes reversed and in the same signs (Sag/Gem))when September 11 occurred? I remember the nodes being a heavy influence and the moon going over them when the twin towers came down. I guess it would be something to always look out for when it occurs. A noteable alignment to pay attention to.
Ardra = "the flood" devistation, yes it's really really bad. I can't bear to watch when they show the animals.

Yes the Nodes were in Gemini and Sagittarius when 911 happened.
This section of the zodiac is where the solar system crosses the Galactic Plane.
Ardra is where we are looking directly away from the center of our Galaxy and Mula Nakshatra is the galactic Core.
Leaking?.. hmm I don't know but there would be a water element to it I s'pose.. Maybe Aslesha.

If possible, could you present also about the Iceland's volcano at all? Currently, there are lots of reports about the rising acidity of dormant volcanic area and more earthquakes happening even in old land lke Australia – they are all the signs of earth moving more actively than ever.
Would we be able to relate to Astrology with these events?

A really great informative lesson on Ketu as co-ruler of Scorpio and the role in the oil explosion. An added piece of information about Mars aspecting Jupiter along with Saturn when Mars leaves Cancer. I am weary of Mars in Cancer with a Cancer lagna; but I am keeping a close watch on Ketu in H-12.
Your exploration into this topic was very much appreciated by me as I am a Scorpio and for a few months I've been feeling lots of "pressures" internally. (Now I know why!) (These are "explosive pressures" that need releasing.) These feelings do have a very deep and powerful quality about them and these emotional depths are not frequently visited by me for very long… much less allowed their healing and release.
But now, this period of self-assessment has to happen. The global aspects of this spill, (the hemorrhaging of the earth), the dangers for many species, and the implications for humanity itself, shall bring renewed opportunities, commitment, and focus to the health of Gaia. It is a breach that can create a revolution.
The long overdue discussions and examinations and realizations of heretofore unacknowledged "high risks for environmental devastation" are obvious for all to begin to see. Internal emotional denial is no longer viable. The risks of fossil fuels are no longer tolerable or smart. (Truth has a way of leaking out.) What was hidden is now exposed. Explosions are cosmic 2 X 4's to the head. Black crude oil is a very interesting symbol or image of what needs to be released. The goo, the slime, the toxic qualities, the threats, the implications for the "whole" are laid bare. Who are we going to BE in the face of this toxic challenge? Can we heal our own personal and collective slime, (old beliefs), in our relationship with the planet and still find a way to be self-sustaining and accountable? Can we caretake our own planet?
