The full moon will happen in Cancer around 1 degree, 50 seconds of sidereal Cancer around midnight of JanuaryCancer 15th —that’s on the West Coast so it’ll be actually in the morning on the 16th but that’s the exact Purnima, when the Sun and Moon are exactly opposite each other, but we’ll be experiencing that Full Moon day mostly on January 15th.

It’s going to be happening in the Nakshatra called Punarvasu which means “return of the light or return of the goodness”. This Nakshatra is ruled by the God Aditi, who is actually the mother of the Adityas who are the solar deities that protect the Earth. The most famous Aditya is called Savitur and the famous Mantra, called the Gayatri Mantra, is to Savitur:

Om Bhur Bhuvah Svaha
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhimahi
Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayat

Savitur is one of the Adityas, one of the sons or the progeny of Aditi, who is the ruler of Punarvasu. So Punarvasu is the deity that ruled this Full Moon.

can you get a tripod please? thanks

Would you like a little cheese with that whine Christina?

I have a tripod and I use it all the time – but sometimes I just like to give a little motion.

Besides it lets me see who the whiners are on my list.

Nice passive aggressive touch,.. “please? thanks”
